  1. I had an assignment as a senior in High School to basically re-make "We Didn't Start The Fire," and to learn what was being talked about as I was doing it, hence me pretty much memorizing the song. It's just too dang catchy! That's your problem, Billy Joel. Who do you think you are? Educational AND great to listen to? Where do you get off? Sheesh.

  4. I agree, in my AP British Lit class in highschool we had to make a huge poster writing out the lyrics to that song and I have never forgot it. I know every single word by heart...it is catchy!

  5. BTW. Thanks Prof. Pease for posting the name of the chapter! I must have bought an older version, third edition. In my book it is chap. 2 that is Journalism, "Information and Society!" and the chart referred to in Question 10 on the quiz is on page 31.

  6. So I took the quiz and scored 8/11. I think it's interesting that college graduates scored an average of 7.5. I thought that they would all be averaging 9 or higher. I think it’s funny that people that have taken some college and people that are over of the age of fifty score about the same. That’s just proof that our younger generation doesn’t stay as well as informed as the elderly generation. This is a pretty cool quiz, I'm guessing most of the older generation doesn't know what Twitter is though. I’m not sure why I know who the Prime Minister of Great Britain is though over the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

  7. That video of "We Didn't Start the Fire" is very entertaining I must say. I feel really naive that I've only heard the chorus and this was my first time hearing the whole song. Oh well, there's a first for everything, right?

  8. "We didn't start the fire," was very entertaining. As for the quiz, I thought I was a lot more knowledgeable than I really am. Oops. I only scored 6/11 right. Perhaps I better start retaining more information.

  9. I also got six correct, but considering it was multiple choice, I have to think that two or three of those were just lucky guesses.

I've also had "We didn't start the Fire" stuck in my head all week long! Thanks a lot...

  13. We didn't start the fire is an iconic song and one of my favorites. I think by putting it to pictures it brings to life the hidden message of what starting the fire really means. From my perception it is that we are strongly influenced by the icons history who have changed our society in many ways.

  14. Only a six out of eleven when I took the quiz. I need to listen to the news more often. ALso, I really like the video "We didn't start the fire." I've already seen It in another class and it is put together really well. It has a lot of different icons from a long period of time.
